Under this project, 675 electric buses will be deployed in eight major cities—Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara, and Jodhpur.

This move is part of the PM e-Bus Sewa Scheme, aiming to make public transport cleaner and greener.

EKA Mobility, an Indian electric vehicle and technology company, along with transport partner Chartered Speed, has won the contract to supply electric buses in Rajasthan.

The Letter of Award (LOA) was given under the Pradhan Mantri (PM) e-Bus Sewa Scheme. Having said that, the project will see a total of 675 electric buses rolled out across eight key cities: Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara and Jodhpur.

The order includes:

  • 565 electric buses of 9-metre length
  • 110 electric buses of 12-metre length

What the Leaders Say

Rohit Srivastava, Business Head & Chief Growth Officer at EKA Mobility, said:”Rajasthan’s bold move toward electrification aligns perfectly with our vision of transforming the way millions commute daily and accelerating India’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future.”

Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director at Chartered Speed, added:”Through the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme, we’re transitioning to an electric fleet that will transform urban mobility.”

These new buses will bring modern, clean, and efficient transport to the state. It’s a big step in cutting down air pollution and reducing dependence on petrol and diesel. Rajasthan is upgrading its public transport to become more eco-friendly and future-ready.

This announcement follows a national push, with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) already confirming electric bus numbers for other Indian states.

This deal in Rajasthan follows recent big wins for EKA Mobility:

  • Rs 150 crore contract from UPSRTC (Uttar Pradesh)
  • Rs 400 crore order from Nagpur Municipal Corporation
