The 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe mainly competes with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan, which offers more engine choices and slightly undercuts it in price.

The all-new second-generation BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe has officially landed in India, with prices starting at Rs 46.90 lakh for the 218i M Sport and going up to Rs 48.90 lakh for the 218i M Sport Pro (ex-showroom).
It replaces the older F44 model and brings a bigger body, sharper looks, and a longer list of features — all while staying BMW’s most affordable sedan in India.
How Has the Design Changed?
This new-gen model looks bolder and more aggressive. It’s longer, wider and taller than the previous version, with angular lines and sharper detailing. The iconic kidney grille now features an illuminated frame, and the adaptive LED headlamps with unique DRLs add more presence on the road.
From the side, you get stylish 18-inch alloys and BMW’s signature Hofmeister kink with a ‘2’ engraved on it. At the rear, the tail-lamps are chunkier, and the bumper sports a sporty diffuser.
What’s Inside the Cabin?
The car gets a new curved dual-screen setup: a 10.7-inch infotainment screen and a 10.24-inch digital driver display, both tilted towards the driver. The centre console is almost button-free, giving the cabin a clean, modern feel.
Other features include ambient lighting that changes with AC temperature, a roof-mounted camera that takes photos and videos, and a digital key that allows remote functions via your phone.
Engine Specification
Under the bonnet is a smaller 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 156 bhp and 230 Nm. It’s paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. The new setup is less powerful than the outgoing model and takes 1.5 seconds longer to hit 100kph (now at 8.6 seconds).
Rivals
Priced Rs 2.5 lakh higher than before, the 2 Series now rivals the Mercedes-Benz A-Class sedan.
