Regardless of whether they are referred to as sports bikes or fully-faired motorbikes, everyone has at some point wished they owned one.
The good news is that you can realise your dream without going bankrupt or depleting your funds.
Here are some fully-faired sports bikes that you may get for less than Rs 4 lakh:
BMW G310 RR
The G310 R, which comes in a single variant and is priced at Rs 3.05 lakh (ex-showroom), is just a rebadged Apache RTR 310. Three colour options are offered: Racing Blue Metallic, Cosmic Black 3, and Sport.
A 312.12 cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine powers the BMW G310 R, producing 33.5 bhp at 9,700 rpm and a maximum torque of 27.3 Nm at 7,700 rpm. The USD front forks and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the back support it.
The motorcycle has single-disc brakes with dual-channel ABS on both ends and is mounted on 17-inch cast aluminium wheels. Along with a fully digital instrument cluster, the G310 R has a slipper clutch and a six-speed gearbox that is controlled by an adjustable clutch lever. Similar to the Apache RR 310, the G310 RR has three ABS modes and four riding modes.
KTM RC 390
The 2024 KTM RC 390 was introduced earlier this year and is available in two colours and one version. The new colourways available are orange-on-blue and orange-on-black.
The RC 390, which starts at Rs 3.18 lakh (ex-showroom), has a 373 cc liquid-cooled engine that can produce up to 42 horsepower and 37 Nm of torque. This unit comes with a quickshifter and a six-speed gearbox. It comes with lightweight aluminium handlebars that can be adjusted, as well as brake and clutch levers.
The sport bike has a rear monoshock and WP APEX front forks, and it is constructed on an orange steel trellis frame. It has two ABS modes: Cornering ABS and Supermoto ABS, and it has single brake discs on all sides. It also has traction control and an instrument console with a TFT display.
Kawasaki Ninja 300
The sports bike known as the Ninja 300, which is made by the Japanese automaker Kawasaki, costs Rs 3.43 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in three colour options—Metallic Moondust Grey, Candy Lime Green, and Lime Green—and one variant.
The Ninja 300 is powered by a 296-cc parallel-twin engine that produces 38.5 bhp at 11,000 rpm and 26.1 Nm of maximum torque at 10,000 rpm. It has a diamond frame and is supported by telescopic front forks and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 has 17-inch alloy wheels and petal-type disc brakes measuring 290 mm in front and 220 mm at the back. A semi-digital instrument cluster, dual channel ABS, and a 2-1 exhaust system with a short-style silencer are also included. The sportbike also has a six-speed transmission and an assist/slipper clutch.
TVS Apache RR 310
The TVS Apache RR 310, the company’s priciest model, comes in two versions and three colour choices: Racing Red, Bomber Grey, and Race Replica. The RR 310’s ex-showroom price for the version without the quickshifter starts at Rs 2.75 lakh. The latter would result in a Rs 17,000 price increase.
The sport bike is supported by KYB USD forks up front and a monoshock down back, and it is constructed on a lightweight trellis frame with an aluminium subframe.
It is propelled by a 310 cc DOHC single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 29 Nm of torque at 7,900 rpm and a maximum power output of 37.4 bhp at 9,800 rpm. It has dual-channel ABS and single discs on both ends and wheels made of 17-inch alloy. It has three ABS modes and four riding modes.
Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2
The F77 Mach 2 is the upgraded F77 electric sport bike, which came out in April 2024 and comes in two different versions. The ex-showroom price of the F77 Mach 2 Recon variant is Rs 3.99 lakh, while the standard model costs Rs 2.99 lakh.
The Ultraviolette F77 Mach 2 and F77 Mach 2 Recon are available in nine different “personalities” classified into three broad personas: Airstrike, Shadow, and Laser. The F77 Mach 2’s top-spec Recon edition has a 10.3 kWh battery pack that powers an electric motor capable of producing 40.2 bhp of maximum power and 100 Nm of peak torque.
It has a top speed of 155 kmph, can accelerate from 0 to 60 kmph in 2.8 seconds, and has an IDC-certified range of 323 km on one charge. It provides ten levels of brake regen and four degrees of traction control.
It has USD front forks and a rear monoshock, both of which are preload adjustable. Single hydraulic disc brakes with dual-channel ABS are used for braking at both ends. A five-inch multi-color TFT screen is available, and the bike allows smartphone connectivity.
